ExpertEase: A FREE Job Portal for Senior Citizens
ExpertEase: A FREE Job Portal for Senior Citizens and Volunteers
ExpertEase (www.seniorexperts.org) is a free on-line Job Portal that has
been designed to connect senior professionals (> 50 years of age) to Indian
firms and NGOs that require their wisdom and expertise. These could be jobs
(part, full time or consulting) or volunteering opportunities.
Registration and usage of portal is free to all participants including
Senior Experts, Firms and NGOs. There are no charges for placing job and
volunteering openings.
Currently, there are more than 1300 Senior Experts registered with
ExpertEase with varied backgrounds including Marketing, Accounting,
Engineering, Technology, Administration and Communication/Media. These
individuals with over 25-40 years of experience have the capacity to
contribute across sectors to small and medium enterprises. Some of them wish
to volunteer their services to NGOs.
Currently, 160 firms and 150 NGOs are registered with ExpertEase and they
have posted 113 jobs and 26 volunteering opportunities. The most popular job
postings have revolved around marketing, sales, administration and finance.
Firms, NGOs and Senior Experts are encouraged to register at
www.seniorexperts.org. All three entities stand to gain – senior experts by
utilizing their skills and spending their time (particularly post the early
retirement age in India) gainfully, firms by access to wisdom that they
could use and NGOs for expanding their volunteer base.
The benefits of working with seniors are extensive – from their amassed
knowledge base, strong skill sets, unbeatable work ethic and access to their
professional network. However, the strongest benefit might be ‘flexibility’.
These individuals would be the most willing to work on a consulting basis or
even part-time based on the company’s needs. This essentially provides small
and medium enterprises access to highly skilled manpower at an affordable
rate as and when required. These senior resources could also be great lead
generators given their historical professional network.
ExpertEase, started in 2009, is an ISR (Individual Social Responsibility)
initiative of Ms Hema Ravichandar (Strategic HR Advisor) and Mr. V.
Ravichandar (Chairman, Feedback Consulting).
We seek assistance in getting the word out about www.seniorexperts.org
